Hi, I'm Sarah...
Creator of the Avalonia Project, I'm the one who made and maintains this website (yup, all the blabla and formatting issues, that's me! I'm learning...). You can find out more about my personal story and how Avalonia came about a little further below. I enjoy writing, and tend to write a lot. So here's a little summary in case you haven't got the time to read all about my epic life journey...

After a career start as a senior engineering consultant in the renewable energy industry in Scotland, my path took a turn when I went to the Schumacher College in Devon for a short-course that changed my life. I later became a volunteer in that pioneering university until the lovely pandemic shook all that was good and sweet in the world. Feeling like it was time to head back home after 12 years abroad, I returned to the French-Swiss border near Geneva and studied with GEN about eco-communities. That's when the project was born in my head. I went on several other courses to find out more about how to bring it to life, with notably the great help from the French project incubator InnoVales who supported the project through the year 2022, whilst working for another brilliant ecological project in Geneva: La Ferme de Mamajah. On the path of druidism, I currently study as an apprentice Bard with the OBOD. I started hosting Celtic celebrations of the Wheel of the Year in October 2021 and have since gathered hundreds of people around fires for numinous moments of Wilderness...

A self-proclaimed sacred ecologist (aka consultant, philosopher, thinker, dreamer, lover, theologist, facilitator etc. in Sacred Ecology), my aim through this project - and in life in general - is to help us all develop a more loving outlook and sense of care for the World we are a part of and let ourselves be inspired by this bond, using sacred ecology techniques, methodologies or traditions with ritual, art, music, poetry, community sharings and much more.
You can find out more about my motivations behind the project in this article.

That's me! In short :)
